Book: The Stylist
Author: Rosie Nixon Publisher: William Morrow Stars: **** Rosie Nixon's debut novel The Stylist is a humorous look into the fast paced world of Celebrity Stylist and their Uber famous clientele. Rosie drew on her knowledge as editor of Hello Magazine to draw you into the world of glitz and glam. I never would have been able to tell this was Rosie's debut novel; it was that well put together. Her character development was really on point! I loved how she dropped so many insider behind the scenes tidbits throughout the book. Amber Green is a London shopgirl at Smiths and Mona Armstrong is London's famous Celebrity Stylist. When Mona loses her assistant right in the middle of awards season she enlist the help of Amber. Amber enters the fast paced world of celebrity just hours after landing in LA. You begin to realize Mona is a bit off and Amber is just a sweet girl thrown into a crazy situation. With each new situation you realize how resilient Amber is and you begin to root for her to come out of each moment unscathed and on top. The novel gives me the first season of the Rachel Zoe Project vibes. Mona seems to be loosely based on Rachel Zoe/Anna Wintor and Amber could very well be Brad Goreski with a little Bridget Jones mixed in. Just throwing it out there that the Stick could be Taylor. This book would make a great film with it having a similar story line as The Devil Wears Prada and The Rachel Zoe Project. I would show up to the movie theater with bells on! I can't wait for the next installment of this one. Are there any fall pieces you are just dying to buy? I am contemplating dark denim and FRYE Paige riding boots. Can you wish Fall into existence? ****I was provided with an advance reader copy of this novel for an honest review. Thank you Rosie Nixon, William Morrow/Harper Collins and Edelweiss for this novel. ****
